Launching \u00a0\u201cLove<\/strong>\u2027<\/strong>Continued<\/strong>\u201d Secondary Schools Short Video Competition<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Share the love of organ donation<\/strong><\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Hong Kong Organ Transplant Foundation\uff08HKOTF\uff09collaborated with RTHK Radio 1 to launch the \u201cLove\u2027Continued\u201d campaign to promote organ donation and celebrate the 10th<\/sup> anniversary of Centralised Organ Donation Register. A ceremony was held at Tai Kwun on 21 October 2018 (Sunday) to kick-off the \u201cLove\u2027Continued\u201d Secondary Schools Short Video Competition.<\/p>\n

Prof. Sophia Chan, Secretary for Food and Health officiated the ceremony with Dr. Kelvin Ho, Founding President of HKOTF; Mr. Eric Tsang, Board of Director of HKOTF; Prof. John Leung, Chairman of Hospital Authority; Dr. Pierre Chan, Legislative Council Member; Mr. David Ho, Head of RTHK and Mr. Alfred Hui, \u201cLove\u2027Continued\u201d Ambassador. The Love\u2027Continued\u201d Secondary Schools Short Video Competition was officially started and opened for application.<\/p>\n

In the opening speech, Prof. Sophia Chan said that only 290 000 registration was recorded on the Centralized Organ Donation Register out of over 7 million population, which was a very small portion. Government and Hospital Authority had been striving to promote organ donation while the educational efforts by the Foundation and the community were also very important. She appreciated the Foundation\u2019s education in schools.\u00a0 She hoped that the registration would continue to increase with the support of the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cI express my gratitude to organ donors\u2019 dedication to bring a new life to the patients.\u201d Prof. Sophia Chan appreciated the donors in her speech.<\/p>\n

\u201cOrgan transplant is the only way to bring a new life to the patients with organ failure and their family members\u201d, said Dr. Kelvin Ho in his speech. He said that Hong Kong\u2019s organ donation promotion was still at the starting stage that there was still a long way to go. He hoped the younger generation could use new ways to spread the message of organ donation to friends, family and the community through joining the \u201cLove\u2027Continued\u201d Secondary Schools Short Video Competition.<\/p>\n

Mr. David Ho said life was inevitably full of ups and downs but love could help overcome the difficulties. He wished that the campaign could help spread love and health message to Hong Kong people.<\/p>\n

Organ recipients Miss. So Tsz-ling and Mr. Ip Chi-yin; Prof S.C. Chan, Vice-President \u00a0of HKOTF; and Kids\u2019 Dream Choir expressed the ups and downs in life through music performances. Miss. So Tsz-ling, a 17-year-old girl and a 6- year old boy awaiting for kidney transplant shared their stories to encourage public support for organ donation.<\/p>\n

\u201cLove\u2027Continued\u201d Secondary Schools Short Video Competition aims at encouraging the young generation to produce impressive short videos with creativity. They could spread the love of organ donation to the community and light up the life of patients. In the first phase of the competition, the participants are required to submit a story outline in 500 words and the shortlisted teams would be invited to join the second phase to produce a video within 3 minutes based on the story outlines.<\/p>\n

Mr. Chun Wong, Director; Mr.\u00a0 KK Wong, Director; Ms. Connie Lo, Creative Director; Dr. Kelvin Ho, and Mr. Joey Leung, Host of Radio Program would be the judging panel members and workshop tutors, who would teach \u00a0short video production skills and organ donation knowledge.<\/p>\n

Mr. Alfred Hui, Love Continued Ambassador and Video Stars including Mr. Carlos Chan, Miss. Hana Tam and Miss. Lok Tung Tsang had taken videos to encourage secondary school students to join the competition. The competition is opened for application now and the deadline would be 3rd<\/sup> December.<\/p>\n
